April and May 2014
Work hasn’t died down since the turn of the year, this is the 2nd year running where we’ve had continuous bookings, this is excellent news and shows that our standards are remaining at the exceptional level that I set out to achieve.
After a few months of negotiations we have agreed a long term residency at two function venues, Blaydon RugbyClub and Swallwell Cricket Club. These are both busy venues providing 2-3 bookings per week on top of our busy schedule. Due to this we have advertised for both experienced and trainee DJ’s
Another exciting new services to our portfolio is providing the regions largest Photo Booth and bookings have been flying in for this. The booth boasts a state of the art canon camera with a HD printer and a touch screen PC for powerful operation.
We have had our discomobile off the road for six weeks due to an accident, and pleased to say that we have it back and its as good as new! This will make our weekends a lot easier.
We have also agreed a new residency at The Woodlands Pub, Rickleton, Washington. The new managers – Mike and Chanelle are very experienced pub managers and are transforming the community hub/pub. The Woodlands Pub are holding a Charity Fun Day on the 17th of May 2014. We will be hosting a children’s disco on the afternoon followed by a disco/karaoke on the evening. All money raised will be for The Lullaby Trust in memory of Oscar Beau.
We have had a busier month than expected with lots of work confirming for the coming months.
We have now invested even further and can offer a fantastic photo booth package, with two booking with in the first 2 days of advertising that we can offer this.
Closure of The New Exchange, North Shields
The news broke out that the wedding venue was closed without any notice to those who have booked and paid for their receptions.
We took time to speak to the management of a local venue where we hold residency plus another wedding service provider – Tyne Events. We have started to gather information on couples who have been left disappointed by the news and able to offer discounted options to ease the stress of the closure and relight the wedding dreams that the couple hold.
Happy New Year to you all.
We have celebrated the new year in style as we were mega busy with DJs across the North East including The Cleveland Tontine, Battlesteads Hotel and Restaurant also a Wedding in Seaham, a function at the Sandman Signuture as well as other venues.
Some of the DJ’s were on the road for nearly 27 hours before bed caught up with them.
We had a fantastic 2013 and aim to make 2014 even more successful as we have recruited more DJ’s to become part of our in house team of experienced presenters and have already started investing in new equipment to fulfill the bookings.
Our IT expert has been at us do this for a while now, but when faced with the thought of a blank screen and told to write a blog, I have to be honest and say this terrifies me as I haven’t a clue what to write… or have I?
I think the problem is ‘where to start’, I could type rubbish all day…. and night but it depends if its something you want to read.
We this month has been a very busy one.
We’ve been fully booked every Saturday with bookings in on afternoons and even the odd Friday booking. We’ve spent alot of time visiting some of our residencies and touching base with the management teams, and we’ve even had adverts for more DJ’s and spent time meeting some DJ’s to watch them play.
We had a few stressful days where equipment was unsuspectingly failing for various reasons. We spent several hours checking connections on leads, and testing all of our sound systems. Our findings were very minor faults that were unavoidable, it was bad luck they all happened at once. We’ve has a mixing desk repaired after the circuit board had cracked, and an Amp had a fault fuse carrier which caused the Amp to short – Both repair, but luckily we’ve got spare equipment so there was no direct effect to our bookings.
